After the conversation, visitors were given the opportunity to watch director Ieva Ozolina's short film “LESTU NAKTS”, which is a lively, anthropological reflection of people and the environment, reaffirming that continuing ancient traditions is a significant, practical and irreplaceable value even today.

Baltic flounder – (Leste), is the queen of the Kurzeme coast among the fish, who has helped the coastal people survive both in brighter and darker times. The peculiarities of flounder catching and cooking are part of cultural heritage. Much of the traditional heritage has disappeared, but the tradition of flounder smoking is still alive. Keeping an eye on the fire in the smokehouse, the loneliness of the night can immerse yourself in the reflection of the small and big issues of temporary life who has no time in the daily rush.

Ieva Ozolina is a documentary film director. Familiar with the films "My Father the Banker", "Greatness My Mother" and "My Mother Country", for which this year she received the "Big Kristaps" award for best documentary.

The event was organized by the Riga Municipal Cultural Institutions Association Exhibition Hall "Riga Art Space", supported by the Riga City Council and the Nature Conservation Agency.
