The LIFE REEF project team will participate in the European Day of the Sea, which will take place this year in Svendborg, Denmark, from 30 to 31 May. This important event will bring together marine ecosystem experts, researchers, representatives of non-governmental organizations and policy makers from all over Europe to discuss current issues and jointly seek solutions for the sustainable preservation of the marine environment.

The European Maritime Day was also celebrated in Latvia on May 22 in Liepāja, where the international conference "BALTICITIES - cooperation of the cities of the Baltic Sea countries for the protection of the marine environment" was held. During the conference, LIFE REEF project experts presented the work done and achieved results, and received valuable feedback from industry experts and other participants. Within the framework of the project, extensive research is carried out, a nature protection plan is developed and educational programs are implemented to raise public awareness of the importance of the marine environment.

"We are pleased with what we have accomplished and look forward to the opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with a wider audience on the European Maritime Day in Svendborg," says LIFE REEF project manager Ilze Sabule. "This event is an excellent platform to build international cooperation and jointly search for solutions to the current problems of the marine environment."

European Maritime Day events are growing in popularity, attracting more than 25,000 participants from all over Europe each year. This year's event in Svendborg features a variety of activities, including scientific conferences, discussions, exhibitions, as well as practical classes.

Participation of the LIFE REEF project in the European Maritime Day is a great way to popularize Latvia's contribution to the protection of the marine environment and promote international cooperation in this important field. We invite all interested parties to visit the project stand in Svendborg and learn more about the Baltic Sea ecosystem.
